The Perks Of Owning A Window Seat !

Prologue:
Well, here comes the 50th post on my blog. You read it right, this is my 50th post ! It has been quite a journey jotting down articles on various topics, close to my heart. I am not sure whether my writing has improved from the day I started this blog but I am pretty sure that I have grown as an individual in this amazing journey. Thanks a lot, everyone, for all the support, love and appreciation. Happy Reading !

A fine vacation had ended and I had to travel back to Bangalore. My friend accompanied me to the bus stand to see me off.

It was a long journey and I had no other option but travel all alone. You can imagine the misery of travelling without an enjoyable company. My smartphone showed '27% Battery Left' and had to be used very efficiently from then on. I boarded the bus but could not get the seat next to a window and the person sitting next to me was all asleep even before the bus started. I kept looking at all the commuters and prayed God for a seat next to the window. I had an old copy of "Reader's Digest" with me and started reading it, waiting for something to happen.

After few hours of boredom, I got a Window seat. I am not sure whether you have a liking for the window seat but I prefer them, a lot. There is a strange sense of serenity and joy hidden in those seats.Window seats come with a "Happiness Guaranteed" tag attached with them. I remember a few instances in which I have snatched/borrowed the window seat by acting like I'm sick. I cleared the window glass with a waste paper, I was carrying, to have a better sight.

In this world of jobless-yet-busy life, we forget to talk to ourselves, at least once in a while. We rarely find time to introspect because of the humongous amount of distractions.  In the act of running, we forget the real purpose of our lives. The Window seat is a perfect escape vehicle to spend the time with the real You. The cool breeze was having an affair with my body. I felt refreshed in no time and a legion of wild thoughts kept creeping. The inner self wants some time to listen to it and this was the best time. I experienced the ultimate calmness as I looked through the window. Large trees, lush-green fields, setting sun and umpteen other things unraveled the beauty of nature.

As the time passed the conversation with the inner-self got weird, crazy, conflicting and what not. But there is a strange sense of happiness in the debate that happens within us - Discussing the positives, negatives and 'I-am-not-sure' things. To be able to plan the future, rejoice and regret the past and to live the present moment sitting next to a window is a treat. If it rains and you have a good collection of songs, I think, that would be the epitome of Joy.

My saga of pleasure was disturbed once in a while when the bus entered big cities and passengers boarded/unboarded the bus. But it was a delightful journey altogether. Moon was saying a big hi  from skies as I entered the outskirts of Bangalore. The busy roads, 'I-love-Red' traffic lights, 'OMG-Tomorrow-is-Monday' faces, 'I-am-gonna-kill-you-soon' gases and many more things greeted me all through the way. I took a city bus to Electronic City and walked towards my PG as I WhatsApped my friend, "Reached my place. Good night". He replied with a thumbs-up emoticon.

PS I know, most of you would have enjoyed sitting next to a window while travelling. But for all those who haven't experienced this (or realized this experience), it's time for a long journey - pack your bags, board a bus/train, get a seat next to a window, have some melodies on your smartphone and enjoy the finest ride. You can me thank me later !
